Dr. Bijan Vasigh

Dr. Vasigh is a professor of Economics and Finance in the College of Business at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach Florida. He has focused his research, teaching, and consulting on the theory, modeling, and application of financial instruments in transport finance. He is the author of North America’s leading aviation textbooks entitled, An Introduction to Air Transport Economics: From Theory to Application, Foundation of Airline Finance: Methodology and Practices, and Aircraft Finance: Strategies for Managing Capital Costs in a Turbulent Industry. Bijan’s work has led to formal collaboration with multiple domestic government agencies and foreign governments such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Learning Center, and NASA on a grant on “Determination of Statewide Economic Benefits of the Small Aircraft Transportation System (SATS)”. He has been interviewed and quoted by national and international news media such as The Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, NBC News, USA Today, Forbes, National Public Radio (NPR) Marketplace, Voice of Russia, El Pais (Spain), Rzeczpospolita (Poland), Trinidad Express, Cuba News, and The Guardian (United Kingdom), Bloomberg Business, among others.

Rasih expertise is in providing leadership to achieve corporate strategies, building coalition to support business growth, and implementing and managing change to drive organizational performance. In addition, he has a vast engineering management expertise in planning, directing and controlling the Technical Asset Management and Technical Service Engineering teams with priorities of (i) maintaining professional business and engineering integrity, (ii) sustaining company culture, (iii) obeying applicable laws and regulations, (iv) creating safe, fair and ethical work environment, and (v) achieving lowest possible operational unit cost. Rasih, managed aircraft full life cycle from such aspects like market research, aircraft selection, lease contract negotiations, technical specification, and delivery from manufacturer/lessor, operation, maintenance reserve management and redelivery to lessor. Actively participated and led operating lease contract re-negotiations with lessors to optimize the lease-cycle cost of 20+ B737NGs. Actively working as Technical Consultant of the Lessor since 2017 and gathered full insight of the Lessor perspective on Lease transitions and contracting. Managed various type of aircraft transition since then including on-site representation and remote record controls.

Professor Hossein “Zane” Tavana earned his Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering with emphasis on operations research from the University of Texas at Austin. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from the Chapman Graduate School of Business, Florida International University (FIU).

Zane has more than 20 years’ work experience in leading and advisory roles in the airline, cruise line, agriculture and consumer packaged goods industries. He is a subject matter expert in pricing and revenue management, and enterprise analytics. He has multiple publications in peer reviewed journals and many presentations at technical conferences globally. He is currently a Research Professor at the Enterprise and Logistics Engineering graduate program at FIU.

Farshid Azadian

Farshid Azadian

Dr. Farshid Azadian has over ten years of experience in performing complex quantitative analysis in the aviation industries in the field of operations management and financial modeling. He specializes in air cargo market and route analysis, fleet assessment, and operations planning. Aside from the air cargo sector, Dr. Azadian has led projects and worked across other sectors of the aviation industry, including aircraft valuation and appraisal, analysis of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and business plan development for startup satellite industries. He has also provided technical support for legal cases in the airline and airport sectors.

Dr. Azadian holds a Ph.D. in industrial engineering. He is an Associate Professor of Air Cargo Management and Supply Chain at David B. O’Maley College of Business at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Florida (US).

She has been involved in various projects as well as detailed market studies over the last 7 years working in the United States, United Arab Emirates and Kazakhstan. Her focus lies in strategic planning and project development, process improvement and lean management, supply chain management and economics.

Wali Mughni

Dr. Wali Mughni

Dr. Wali Mughni was a Top Gun fighter pilot who voluntarily took early retirement from the Air Force in 1992 to pursue advanced studies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Florida, USA where he earned MBA in Aviation followed by PhD in Aviation Business Administration. Apart from other esteemed assignments/appointments, he also worked as a research associate at NASA’s Center of Aviation and Aerospace Research Center, from where he also published his research papers in world renowned journal of Aviation & Aerospace on Simulation studies in Human Factors.

Krislen Keri

Krislen Keri

Krislen Keri is an aviation professional with 10 years’ experience in regulatory affairs and policy making.

He specializes in Aviation Economics, Quality Management, Regulatory Audit, Airline Operations, Risk Management Systems, ICAO Continuous Monitoring Approach, and high-level Management.

During his engagement with the Albanian Government, Krislen devised and implemented the Albanian Civil Aviation Liberalization and Development Strategy, where he led the negotiations for the lifting of exclusivity rights of Tirana International Airport, allowing the development of two new airports in the country.

During his tenure as Director General of the Albanian CAA, he supported the promotion of the Albanian aviation on both national and international levels while maintaining a high level of safety and strengthening the relations with the international aviation community.

He is an active member in the international aviation organizations ICAO, ECAC, EASA and Eurocontrol.
